Message from the Chairman, Most Rev. Jude Paulraj D.D. Bishop of Palayamkottai

The Church is missionary by nature.  We are the Church and so every baptized person is a missionary.  We are called to establish the Kingdom of God specially by bearing witness to the kingdom values.  This is the basic call / vocation through Baptism to extend God’s reign on earth.  If we accept and value this truth, then every Congregation or Order will plan to spread it in and through their charisms giving the main thrust to the kingdom of God and their own Congregation!
Thus all of us are called to live up to this common priesthood received in and through baptism.  Priests are called much more and that with an undivided heart through ministerial priesthood.  This witnessing life will surely draw the youth of today to reflect on their own lives and be enabled to give them up unconditionally to serve the Lord and His people.
Our beloved Pope has also highlighted the need for life-witness by priests and religious in his message for Vocation Sunday.  The youth today will be attracted to follow Jesus through priestly dedication and religious Consecration when they see the priests and religious in close communion and friendship with Jesus and serving the Lord and His people through total surrender in Joy.
We have our role-model in the person of Mother Mary who wholly belongs to God always and in all ways.  Let us pray to her in the words of our Pope.  “To watch over each tiny seed of a Vocation in the hearts of those whom the Lord calls to follow him more closely ... ... ... and help it grow into a mature tree bearing much good fruit for the Church and for all humanity”.
